ATLANTA — New York Mets announcer Ron Darling says he could have surgical procedure subsequent week to take away a “giant mass in my chest” and hopes to return to the published sales space in Could.
The longtime SNY analyst made the announcement Saturday night time through the telecast of the Mets-Braves recreation in Atlanta.
The 58-year-old Darling stated a sequence of assessments revealed the mass. He stated medical doctors have advised him that “if there are not any problems I must be again on air speaking baseball someday subsequent month.”
Darling did not present additional particulars on the prognosis. The Mets stated medical doctors had been monitoring Darling over the previous few months.
The Mets stated SNY studio analyst and former Mets participant Todd Zeile will fill in for Darling throughout his medical depart.
The previous pitcher was sued this month by former Mets teammate Lenny Dykstra over a passage in Darling’s new e-book that accused the outfielder of directing racist feedback towards Boston starter Oil Can Boyd through the 1986 World Collection.
