Washington Nationals activate Stephen Strasburg and Ryan Zimmerman from disabled list


The Washington Nationals activated pitcher Stephen Strasburg and first baseman Ryan Zimmerman from the disabled listing Friday.

Strasburg was positioned on the 10-day disabled listing June 10 with proper shoulder irritation.

The 29-year-old right-hander is scheduled to start out Friday night time towards the Atlanta Braves.

Strasburg is 6-6 with a three.46 ERA in 13 begins this season.

Zimmerman was initially positioned on the 10-day disabled listing on Might 12 (retroactive to Might 10) with a strained proper indirect. Hewas then transferred to the 60-day DL on June 30.

Zimmerman, 33, is hitting .217 with 4 house runs and 16 RBI in 33 video games.

Matt Adams is beginning at first base for Washington Friday.

Proper-handed pitcher Wander Suero was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
